July 4th Impeachment Center Inaguration and Picnic
Impeachment is Patriotic: The Los Angeles Impeachment Center launches on July 4, 2007 at 11 am. The Impeachment Center will have literature, phone & address information and other resources. It is a county-wide resource for advancing the impeachment of George W. Bush & Richard Cheney. The Center is located at 8124 W. Third Street, Suite 216 (located by Crescent Heights & 3rd St.).
The July 4th launch to be followed by a Picnic at La Cienega Park with speakers and a film screening
The Impeachment Center is open every Saturday from 2 to 6 pm. The Center will facilitate the following activities: (1) phone banking, (2) letter writing, (3) meetings, lobbying/working toward adoption of impeachment resolutions by local City Council, CA State Assembly, and CA Congressional Representatives (especially House judiciary representatives).

It's early in the day, so you won't have to miss any other celebrations.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters will speak at both the inauguration ceremony and the picnic from 12 to 3 pm. There will be music at various times at the picnic including music and entertainment from Eva James (songs around 1pm), musician Steven Fine, and special guest Marcy Vaj and the Regime-Change Band.
*What and Whom: Congresswoman Maxine Waters to speak at 11am at a 30 minute Ceremonial Inauguration for the Peace Center, along with Byron De Lear, former Green Party Candidate for Congress in the San Fernando Valley and cofounder of Global Peace Solution; and Peter Thottam, progressive attorney active with Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace (ICUJP) and former Green Party candidate for CA Assembly.

*Why: To Urge Los Angeles City Council, Santa Monica City Council and CA State Congressional and Assembly Representatives to Pass a Resolution Calling for the Impeachment of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney
Leaders of the Westside Greens, the Progressive Democrats of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Greens, and the Santa Monica Democratic Club will officially inaugurate the Los Angeles Impeachment Center to be followed by speakers who will address strategies and ideas relating to the impeachment of George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney. The Impeachment Center will coordinate phone banking, letter writing, meeting sessions and civil disobedience actions relating to Impeachment. It will provide Impeachment related resources available for distribution. Lawn signs, bumper stickers and other literature will be made available to all who attend. Volunteers will discuss tactics relating the Impeachment of both Bush & Cheney.
